Gripping, depressing, a very realistic. One two-star goodreads review complains: 'Blue Skies is like reading a AITA post, where the person is clearly the Ahole, except it's almost 400 pages and that all characters in the book are Aholes.' This is spot on, except that we are all assholes when it comes to climate change: some of us are just generally assholes, dudes driving Teslas and refusing to change their baby's nappies, some are trying to feel better by eating lab-farmed meat and crickets, and some are getting angry at humanity, raging at our collective failure to take the end of our world seriously, and becoming really annoying in the process. None of it is going to fix things ( and sure, the solution is collective action but that's easier said than done).
